God is Love

11 Feb, God is Love, admin. Filed under Bible Studies. . ,

According to 1 John we must know God through love as God is love! In Chapter 4 verse 7 it states “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.”

This truly depicts how we are supposed to be. How can we claim we are one with God yet we do not love our bretheren. To say we love God who we have not seen, and not love our bretheren who we have seen is being a hypocrite and a liar. We must love all our brothers and sisters, even if they torment and ridcule us, as God so loved them, then so shall we. As stated in 1 John Chapter 4 verse 21 “He who loves God must love his brother also”.

There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out all fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John Chapter 4 verse 18. We must continue to testify to each other about what God has truly done for each of us. If God has lifted your day, give him praise. If you claim you love God, then you should have no problem standing firm and confessing him before men. Perfect love through God as stated before has NO fear, so there is no room for fear of speaking God’s word before men/women.

We are not perfect beings! Yes we were made in God’s image, which makes us have the ability to do many things, but these things should be done through Christ and within God’s will. In 1 John Chapter 2 verse 1 it states “If anyone sins, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ the righteous.” God so love us that he sent his only son to die for our sins. There is no better example of Perfect Love than that.

When we are dealing with our imperfections, remember that we do have an advocate in the Lord Jesus Christ. Many times we have heard or seen Christians give up their quest to be with the Lord because they committed a sin that they feel the Lord cannot forgive. Deep down within their hearts they know that the Lord can and will forgive them as long as they humble themselves and and from the purity of their heart ask forgiveness. Even though they know this, they still shy away from the Lord as the problem is not with the Lord forgiving them, but them forgiving themselves. As Christians if we allow any temptation to turn into sin, we must ALWAYS get right back up and continue our Journey in Christ. The victory has already been claimed, so let’s continue our quest to be with the Almighty.

Remember “Perfect Love is God”, he loves us, he sent his son to die for us, he can and will forgive us of our trespasses! Push on my brothers and sisters, let us strive to love each other as God has loved us.
