When you have received God’s favor!

07 Apr, When you have received God’s favor!, Jennie. Filed under Inspiration. . ,

Hi

I started a new job in 2003 as an assistant accountant. I believed strongly that God had opened that door for me, because it was in response to the first application letter that I had sent. However during my time there I have been challenged in some really unexpected ways, and I bless God for being there with me all through the really rough times.

Within the first month of my employment, infact during my first week there, twenty-five hundred dollars went missing. I was the person who prepared the deposit so, the blame should have immediately fallen on me, but that didn’t happen - strange isn’t it? An investigation was immediately conducted on a young lady who had started six months prior to my arrival. It was revealed that money was missing before I had started. Needless to say she got fired!

After that episode it should have been smooth sailing, with only mundane challenges. However, after about six months there, the accountant started making a lot of negative comments to the general staff about me. I had made friends with fellow christians, so although I didn’t know the exact comments made in most cases, I was always told to watch my back, keep my head on and keep my mouth shut.

I did my work to the very best of my ability and found favor with both God and my employer. He began to respect me as a christian and as a faithful employee. However the accountant continue trying all means to ruffle my feathers so to speak and discredit me in the eyes of my co-workers and former employees. But when God is for you……

He believed that I was my boss’ favorite and was allowed previlages that were never extended to him. So he gave me more work than was necessary, including his, so that he would look good in the eyes of the Managing Director. Although I was a little peeved at this I made the most of the opportunities. He also attempted to embarrass me before the boss, but this resulted in him being suspended without pay. While I received acting allowance (lol). When you have found favor….

His next move was to shut me out of the computer system with passwords and delay all authorised requests to train me. He would leave the island, knowing that I needed to retrieve certain information to continue the running of the business. I was forced to prepared financial information manually to meet the required deadlines. These times prepared me for what was yet to come. When God has blessed you with intellect……

Once the accountant called my best friend and attempted to gain information about my marriage relationship by stating that I was allowing my personal problems (whatever they were) to affect my work. But when your friends are lifting you up in prayer……

I found out that He was jealous of me, all bright eyed and bushy tail and young. Even though he had worked at the establishment for almost 20 years, he felt insecure about his position. During this time I said nothing to him about what he was doing, Nothing! That was really difficult!! REALLY!!!  There were many times when counting to 10 didn’t work so, I starting counting to 100 (smile) and praying without ceasing that God would continue to have my back.

To make a long story short…… I am now the accountant. God’s covering was over my life. He wouldn’t allow anyone to harm me, no matter what they tried, and He never will!
